Chabot Fine Art Gallery is pleased to welcome the Art of Haiti sponsored by Haiti’s Child, a non-profit organization. Featuring framed and unframed photographs, canvas art and original drawings from our children in Croix de Bouquets,Haiti. The exhibit will be on view from Thursday January 17th with the special fundraising event on Saturday January 19th from 6-9pm. Your donations will support the over 140 children cared for each day at our mission site. Exhibit is free and open to the public.
A little background: Haiti’s Child was founded in 2005 and is a Christian 501 (c)3 non-profit organization located in the city of Croix de Bouquets, Haiti. (close to the capital Port au Prince)
It is our mission to fulfill the educational, physical, and spiritual needs of the children and community. There are currently 140 children (ages 5-11) enrolled in our educational program, all of which would have had no schooling. We also provide meals and snacks to these children each day. The site which just a few years ago was a barren piece of land now is a thriving center with a church, school and an orphanage. We installed a well with a powered pump a few years back which provided the only fresh water source for miles. The entire 3 acre parcel is completely surrounded by a 10′ block wall which provides security and privacy to our children. http://www.haitischild.com/
