“Capricco, A Palace in Venice”

his drawing depicts a noble family’s palace with groundskeepers at work. The ruins of a
Roman arch can be seen on the left and a clocktower in the center background. Under the arch a servent is carrying a sack of grain. The foot of the grand staircase is highlighted by an
eleborately dressed lady and gentleman.

Artistic liberties have been taken in this interpretation of an oil painting by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as “Canaletto”.
