“Capriccio, San Giorgio with the Rialto Bridge, Venice”

Tn the right is the church of San Giorgio Maggiore seen from the southwest, behind which is the campaniale of San Bartolomeo. In the center crossing the Grand Canal is the Rialto bridge. The actual location of the church is on the island of San Giorgio.

Artistic liberties have been taken in this interpretation of an oil painting by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as “Canaletto”.
