Chabot Fine Art Gallery has announced a “Creating Energy” Juried Painting Exhibition to be held in conjunction with the 2011 International Esmo Conference, the 12th International Conference & Exposition on Energy, to be held in Providence, Rhode Island May 14- 19th with over 50 countries participating. The exhibit will feature 25 artists selected from submissions from around the world that fit the criteria of creativity, skill, technique, and artistic attributes within the theme of “Creating Energy”. From the overall entries awards will be presented to First Place (best of show), Second Place, Third Place and 2 Honorary Mentions. Jurors are Harel Kedem, Senior Critic of Textiles and Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and Del-Bourree Bach a renowned award-winning artist who serves on several Boards for the Arts in Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut. Opening Reception & Awards Presentation Thursday Evening May 19, 2011 5–9PM. The reception is free and opened to the public.

Judges: Harel Kedem – is the senior critic at the Rhode Island School of Design, one of the oldest and best-known colleges for art and design in the United States, for the textile and painting departments. Kedem is a fine artist and architect born in Czechoslovakia who has lectured both nationally and internationally, as well as exhibited fine art work all around the world, from the Decordova Museum, to galleries in Israel. In 1994 he was the recipient of the prestigious Annual Award in Architecture from the Brookline Massachusetts Preservation Society. Has lectured on the topic of the collective experience of the Jewish people at Harvard University. He is currently practicing architect and painter
Del-Bouree Bach is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists, Society of Animal Artists, Artists for Conservation, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, American Artists Professional League (Fellow), Audubon Artists, Artists Fellowship, the Salmagundi Club of New York, Providence Art Club, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, and many other professional arts organizations. Most recently he was elected to the Copley Society of Art in Boston. In 2009 he was named to the PaintAmerica Masters Circle, an honor he shares with only 9 other artists nationwide. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Salmagundi Club, where he is also a past chairman of the Art Committee. He is currently on the Board of the Mystic Arts Center and on the Art Committees of the Salmagundi and Providence Art Clubs. Del’s paintings are included in private, corporate and museum collections in the U.S. and abroad, including the Albrecht Kemper Museum in Missouri and the Florence Griswold Museum in Connecticut, as well as the U.S. Embassy and the Coast Guard Art Collections.
Exhibition – The 25 selected artists will participate in a collective exhibition “Creating Energy” at the Chabot Fine Art Gallery. The exhibition will be from May 10th through June 11, 2011.
Opening Reception – A Meet the Artists & Awards Presentation event will be held on the evening of Thursday May 19, 2011 from 5- 9pm. Free and public invited.
Judging – Judging will be based on creativity, skill, technique, and artistic attributes within the theme “Creating Energy”.
Awards – From the overall entries, 25 artists will be selected for the Creating Energy Exhibition. There will be a 1st Place Best of Show Award, 2nd Place Award, a 3rd Place Award and 2 Honorary Mentions.
