Robin Wessman
“The landscape of the northeast has been a constant source of inspiration for my painting. In my most recent series of landscapes, I attempt to capture the scene as I see it and how I feel about it. Each painting is my response to what I am experiencing as I paint. It is as much about the experience as it is about the subject. ”
Born in 1952, Robin has been painting New England scenes for over 30 years. His source of inspiration for most of that time has been the landscape along the northeastern coastline of New England and especially Cape Cod where he spent much of his youth. His fascination with water, light and nature comes through in his treatment of landscapes. His paintings originate from working outdoors where he can directly observe the landscape and see how it is affected by the changing light. Many of his paintings are completed on location, while others are finished in the studio.
