Chabot Fine Art Gallery is pleased to present the opening of the Discovering New England Painting Competition. The beauty and culture of the New England region was the inspiration for artists to create works with an emphasis on the diversification of styles in our Discovering New England Competition sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama from Providence RI. Juror Michael Giaquinto, the exhibitions curator from the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Dennis Massachusetts has selected the works from the submissions received for this collection from artists living within the New England Region. The following awards will be presented at the Opening Reception: First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and two Honorable Mentions.

Fine Art & Flower Show

Chabot Fine Art Gallery for the first time will pair visual art with floral designs by local florists in the Fine Art & Flower Show. The florists will create works inspired by the collection of florals, landscapes and abstracts from a select group of artists including Jim Grabowski who is new to the gallery and is considered the “Painter of the Corporate Stars”. These spectacular arrangements will be on view at the Opening Reception until the following week. The following florists are participants in this exciting exhibition: City Gardens Flower Shop, Frey Florist and Greenhouse, Floral Designs by LiRog, Jephry Floral Studio, Blooming Blossoms, and A New Leaf.

Participating Artists: S, Chandler Kissell, Blanche Serban, Jim Grabowski, Edwin Wilwayco, Dennis Coelho, Domine Vescera Ragosta, Carolyn Latanision and Lee Chabot.

A.I.R. Abstraction, Impressionism, Representational

Chabot Fine Art Gallery is pleased to announce their first major exhibition of 2012 with A.I.R. an exciting collection of works in the styles of Abstraction, Impressionism and Representational by a select group of artists. The gallery is pleased to welcome two new artists Cyndy Carstens from Scottsdale, Arizona and Blanche Serban from Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Carstens works inspire a sense of hope, peace and healing while Serban’s works transcends the immediate experience and understanding to an emotional response.

Always inspiring are the works of acclaimed artist Domine Vescera Ragosta. Her impressionistic style with her bold strokes of the palette knife bring to life the beauty that surrounds her. Robin Wessman’s landscapes reflect the beauty of the New England Region while Steve Barylick and S. Chandler Kissell bring their freedom of expression to life in their abstractions.
