Chabot Fine Art Gallery is currently displaying a collaboration of two different styles that will delight the eye in a new show entitled “Double Vision Double Vision”. Daniel Kelley’s figurative paintings and Lee Chabot’s approach to perspective allow dynamic and interesting perspectives for the viewer.

“Double Vision Double Vision” will be on display from August 10 – September 4 2010

Opening Reception Gallery Night August 19th 5-9PM

Kelley states that for years I have worked with different techniques and styles depending on the way in which I see my subject. Sometimes I like to use a pallet knife and thick heavy oil paint and other times I work with acrylic to achieve the look I am after. Whatever the technique my goal is to make a connection between a work of art and the viewer.

Chabot’s work dives deep into the picture plane, offering spacious views of the scenery, or dances around your point of view, concurrently providing multiple perspectives. This stylistic quality is the hinge upon which all other artistic elements hang. Chabot possesses a wonderful sense for color, employing an exuberant palette that is bright and charming.

Lee Chabot is currently preparing for exhibitions in October and November of 2010 in Chelsea, New York City, Ferrara, Italy and Fort Lauderdale Florida. For more info for the New York City exhibit log onto: http://www.agora-gallery.com/artistinvite/lee_chabot.aspx

Chabot Fine Art Gallery is pleased to introduce photographer Douglas Racine to the gallery. Racine’s photography captures nature at its best. His spectacular shots are a testament to his ability to see beyond what the novice eye can see to capture amazing photos that often are once in lifetime opportunities. Racine was born in Rhode Island and presently lives in upper state New York where thru the eye of his camera lens most of his photos are taken. An engineer by trade, he began his avocation of photography when a friend bought him a camera a few years ago. Bob Marcotte, who is the assistant presentation editor of the Democrat and Chronicle writes the blog “The Word on Birds” and quotes on Racine’s work “Wow! What a spectacular display!” Racine’s photos are often seen on many New York Television Shows and were recently acclaimed by the Smithsonian National Zoological Parks where they exhibit some of his works on their website.

Dominico Riccitelli was born in 1881 in a small village near Naples, Italy and settled in Providence RI when he was 15 years old. He opened the first art gallery on Historic federal Hill on September 11th 1964 known as “The Little Art Gallery”. Riccitelli studied briefly at Rhode Island School of Design and exhibited at the Providence Art Club. He used an Impressionist style and technique all his own including one that to varying degrees did entire paintings this way. The lemon-yellow light is very characteristic of his work often reflecting the late afternoon sun. He included the figure in his landscapes for scale and composition. His granddaughter, Lori Marshall brings his work to the gallery.

The exhibition will run from March 18th until April 10th, 2010
