Michelle Anastasia Mizioch
Originally from Ukraine, Michelle Anastasia Mizioch grew up around the Boston and
Manhattan area. Early on Michelle was attracted to immersing herself in the arts, studying ballet, painting and sculpture. Along with a love of the arts, Michelle often worked alongside her father, restoring the inside and outside of residential homes. Working on homes influenced
Michelle’s current approach to working in a multi-disciplinary method, encouraging the thought process of, “what material will best work to evoke my concept?”
Wanting to deeply immerse herself in the study of textiles, Michelle went back to school and in June of 2010 graduated with highest honors from the Rhode Island School of Design textile department. At RISD Michelle began to create large scale, emotive installations. In January of 2010 Michelle placed first in the three dimensional category for Ukrainian Art Week. Through the positive response received at Ukrainian Art Week, several of Michelle’s installations have gone on to be represented in St. Petersburg, Russia. Currently Michelle is in the process of applying to Interior Architecture programs and hopes to be able to continue creating large scale
Instillations that establishes an inclusive environment for contemplative thought.
