Lee Chabot
My work is most often influenced by landscape and environment. How I interpret the landscape inspires both the palette and painting style I choose to work in. My styles range from realistic, semi-abstract to abstract expressionism. Since early childhood I have been fascinated by what perspective and line do to create a visual narrative. Color, and its endless possibilities, solidified my interest in pursuing a career in the arts, and color theory continues to inspire me. I feel strongly that composition is the most important aspect in the successful achievement of any painting. Therefore, I always strive to create a composition that retains the viewer’s interest through the effective uses of line and color balance. The most rewarding aspect is when I see someone look at my work and know I have succeeded.
My works have been exhibited on Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Laguna Beach, California and Agora Gallery, Chelsea New York in 2010.
