Lee Chabot
The first thing that captures your attention when viewing a painting by Lee Chabot is his approach to perspective. It dives deep into the picture plane, offering spacious views of the scenery, or dances around your point of view, concurrently providing multiple perspectives. This stylistic quality is the hinge upon which all other artistic elements hang. Chabot possesses a wonderful sense for color, employing an exuberant palette that is bright and charming. His brushwork adds particular vitality to the image, decidedly sculptural and wonderfully alive. We see waterways and expansive skies among rolling hills pocked with warm, sunny structures. Chabot’s style tells the story of a place, communicating with us in a way that words alone cannot. “Since early childhood,” he explains, “I have been fascinated by what perspective and line do to create a visual narrative.”
His works have been exhibited on Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Laguna Beach, California. Exhibits for 2010 are: Agora Gallery, Chelsea New York, Ferrara,Italy and Artists Haven Gallery, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
