Jeffrey M Sparr

This other less known side of me often catches even people who know me well off guard. A side that was necessitated as a get away from the rigors of running a business and as a therapeutic release from the mental strain of my personal battle with OCD.

From the outset what came easy and just felt good evolved into an unexpected art career that only further validated my personal belief that anything is possible if you have the passion and desire. Quickly I found that this addiction provided me a sense of control and immediacy that created a whole new vehicle for my imagination and creativity.

As time evolved I developed my own unique unconventional style combined with interesting subject matter, brilliant colors, a keen sense of movement and trademark faceless characters resulting in a new breed of artwork that created an illusion of mystery and intrigue.

True to my unusual background I continue to keep a log of over 250 titles with no paintings and literally hundreds of concepts/ideas that continue to spark the imagination and create new work. Work that hopefully reminds us of a simpler time of Fedoras, long dresses, suits, cigars, and martinis, and the pleasure that came with it. Jeffrey and Jennifer Sparr established the Peace Love Foundation in 2008 for the purpose of using the arts as a catalyst to break down the stigma associated with mental illness and to generate emotional and financial support for the many that suffer in silence.

The name and unique logo, which is prevalent in many of Jeffrey’s pieces, stands as a commitment to helping people find these 2 most basic but elusive beliefs: Peace and Love.

“If he is to be ultimately at peace with himself, what a man must be, he must be.”
- Abraham Harold Maslow (1940-1970)
