Evan Mann

Evan Mann explores the process of creation and recognizes the innate desire in humans to invent, construct and produce something new, generally to serve a functional purpose. He is exploiting this concept and applying it towards his artistic process, as sort of a tribute towards the ultimate “Maker” that he believes set him in his place. These images have been approached without an agenda of preconceived forms so as not to restrict the flow of imaginative juices that result in a non‐objective product, of which any freshly invented object can relate to. The use of titles sets each piece in a context to be viewed from, transforming each piece into a functional object, tool, or biomorphic machine ready to perform its given task. This idea can be magnified towards the occupational descriptions we give ourselves, and so on…the applications of this idea are boundless, as well as the process itself.
